A 31-year-old woman from the state of Georgia smothered her eight-month-old baby while she was overdosing on drugs.
According to Cherokee County Police spokeswoman Jay Baker, the bodies of Holly Whitley and her son were found in their home on July 17th.
The woman died of a fatal dose of methamphetamines, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
While she was unconscious, the top of her body crashed on that of her baby, smothering it.
The authorities were called to the residence after a family member expressed concern about not being able to reach her.
The woman’s 2-year-old daughter was found unharmed in the house where her mother and younger brother had died.
She was entrusted to the close family.
