He was asked how his skill set fits into Mike LaFleur’s new-look offense. Rather than give away too much of the game plan, Brissett smiled and asked, “Do you work for the Chargers?”

The quip drew laughs while playfully suggesting that Los Angeles might have an operative in the media room looking for inside information.

Behind the joke, Brissett offered a revealing glimpse into what he likes about LaFleur’s offensive philosophy. The veteran quarterback praised the first-year head coach for tailoring the system around the personnel available instead of forcing players into rigid roles. That adaptability will be crucial.
