Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill ‘laughing through pain’ as he faces likely season-ending knee injury | 2025

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill sustained a potentially season-ending knee injury during the team’s victory over the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football.”

The injury occurred early in the third quarter when Hill, nicknamed “Cheetah,” was tackled by Jets rookie Malachi Moore immediately after making a 10-yard catch. The incident resulted in a dislocated left knee, and multiple media outlets are reporting that Hill may have torn multiple ligaments, including his ACL, requiring reconstructive surgery.

Despite the gravity of the injury, Hill demonstrated remarkable mental toughness. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel noted that Hill was “in the best spirits of any player” he had seen undergo such a terrible experience, immediately telling staff to focus on securing the win.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed his client’s positivity from the hospital, saying Hill was “laughing through the pain, to avoid passing out,” and was cheering on his teammates while waiting for tests.

Hill, a key offensive player for Miami, led the NFL in receiving yards and touchdown catches the previous season. The football world, including his former teammate Patrick Mahomes, offered their prayers and well wishes for his recovery.
