Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule praises ‘ultimate competitor’ Dylan Raiola

Nebraska football made things interesting on the road against the Maryland Terrapins, but they were able to come out with the victory by a 34-31 score. Quarterback Dylan Raiola did not have the best day, but saved his best for last.

The quarterback was 20-of-29 on the afternoon, throwing for 260 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. He made some key throws at the end of the game to tight end Luke Lindenmeyer and Nyziah Hunter. All in all, it wasn’t a perfect day, but the quarterback made throws when he needed to.

Rhule was complimentary of the signal-caller following the win, as the Huskers moved to 5-1 on the season.

“He’s just the ultimate competitor. That’s why I get upset when the national media is all about Mahomes comparisons.  I’m like ‘This guy is a stone-cold fighting winner’. He wants to win so badly.”

Raiola’s desire to win certainly showed during the game, as he kept plays alive in the fourth quarter. It wasn’t a perfect day by any means, but he made plays when he needed to.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-1) retake the field on Friday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The kickoff time is set for 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on Fox.
