Strasbourg: setback for Mamadou Sarr
A blow for Senegal

After expressing his desire to play for Senegal rather than the French national team, Mamadou Sarr has hit a bit of a roadblock.
Racing Club de Strasbourg has announced that their defender suffered a thigh injury during Tuesday’s training session. As a result, he will not be travelling to Bratislava.
Strasbourg will kick off the opening phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League. RCSA faces Å K Slovan Bratislava this Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 19:00 GMT.
Liam Rosenior now has to find solutions in defence with the 20-year-old sidelined. This is a second blow after the confirmed absence of Emmanuel Emegha, who is also out injured.
On loan from Chelsea to Strasbourg, Mamadou Sarr has played in eight matches this season. He will also miss the Ligue 1 clash against Angers this weekend, but could still be available for a potential call-up with Senegal during the October international break.
