Australia will not join move by UK, Canada and France in banning trade with Israeli settlements in West Bank

Ed Husic has urged the Albanese government to take concrete action against illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, warning Palestine cannot be “sticky-taped” back together with “yet another statement”.

It comes as Labor party members criticised the federal government for not following the UK, Canada and France in banning trade with West Bank settlements, also urging the foreign affairs minister, Penny Wong, to mount a stronger response to violence against Palestinians.
