Iowa football lands 2028 QB Chase Grove over Big Ten, Big 12 programs
IOWA CITY — Class of 2028 quarterback Chase Grove has committed to Iowa football, he announced Sept. 12.
Grove, who attends North Central High School in Indianapolis, picked Iowa over offers from Purdue, Minnesota, Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, North Carolina and others.
Grove is a three-star prospect according to Rivals, is ranked ninth in the state of Indiana’s 2028 high school class. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and around 180 pounds.
As a sophomore at North Central, Grove was 154-of-241 (63.9%) passing for 1,901 yards with 19 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Through the first four games of his junior season, Grove is 70-of-107 (65.4%) passing for 1,004 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Iowa continues its success in recruiting the Hoosier State with Grove’s commitment. Trevor Lauck and Leighton Jones, both offensive linemen on Iowa’s current roster, are from Indiana. So are running back Xavier Williams and quarterback Jimmy Sullivan. Former Hawkeyes Jay Higgins and Deontae Craig were also plucked from Indiana. Keyon Thomas, who is committed to Iowa in the 2027 class, plays for Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.
Grove is the third player to commit to Iowa in the 2028 recruiting class. He joins defensive back Dwayle Smith and offensive lineman James Barnett.
