DK Metcalf will have a clean slate in his second season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While he played well in his maiden stint, it was marred by a physical altercation he had with a fan of the Detroit Lions in December.

Metcalf was suspended for two games and lost roughly $45 million in guaranteed money. Fortunately for him, he did not have to face criminal charges, as decided by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in May.

The 28-year-old wide receiver is focused on moving forward, as he remains a primary target for Aaron Rodgers. The 42-year-old Rodgers expressed his admiration for Metcalf, whom he got to know better in the offseason.

“DK is in a way better spot. He really is. Whatever was going on last year, I was joking in the spring, I was like, ‘Happy DK is back,’” said Rodgers on “Not Just Football.”

“I just love DK. I think he’s a really interesting guy. His story is amazing. The way his stepdad showed up for DK and DK’s mom and that family. Just hearing his story opened my eyes to who DK is. He’s been a different person, and as we see so often in this business, both positively and negatively, the personal can really affect the professional, and I think he’s just played so damn good and he’s just happy, and I just love for it DK because I care about him so much.”
