Steph Curry clears the air on his Warriors future after team’s quiet offseason

The Golden State Warriors had a quiet offseason after missing out on a few high-profile names and potential trades, including LeBron James, who chose to head to the Philadelphia 76ers. The lack of moves fueled some speculation about star Steph Curry’s future with the team, with many NBA fans calling for the Warriors to trade the future Hall of Famer.

However, through it all, Curry has given no indication that his tenure in Golden State would or could end anytime soon. It was actually just the opposite from Curry, who recently addressed his future with the Warriors in a recent interview with ABC7 News Bay Area.

I’m obviously excited for the season and trying to come in physically ready,” Curry said. “[The] guys have been working all summer, I’m excited about the team we have coming back. The contract stuff, as it always goes, we’ll solve it when it’s time.”

“The idea between now and training camp, our job is to collectively get ready for hopefully a retooled and re-energized and healthier year than we had last year, myself included. There’s no secret I want to be here [for] the rest of my career, and making sure that it’s the right situation and setup.”

Obviously, this is good news for Warriors fans, and it’s not all that surprising to hear from Curry himself. He’s never strayed from the fact that he wants to be with the Warriors for his career in its entirety, and it doesn’t appear that anything has changed as he heads into his 18th NBA season.
