Wolves announce signing of defender Konan
Wolves have announced their final signing of the summer transfer window – almost 23 hours after it closed – by bringing in Portugal-based Ivory Coast defender Ghislain Konan.
The 30-year-old 57-times capped left-back, who played under new Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto at Gil Vicente in the Portuguese Liga last season, has signed on a one-year deal.
He fills the gap in the squad left by David Moller Wolfe’s departure to SV Hamburg on deadline day.
Konan started his career with Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas before moving to Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes.
He then moved in 2018 to Stade de Reims, where he spent five years, before a stint in the Saudi Pro League, first at Al-Nassr, then Al-Fayha, half a season with Spanish second tier side Burgos and then last season’s time with Gil Vicente.
