Malik Nabers practices in full Wednesday, Harbaugh says, ‘I think he’s ready to go’
The New York Giants had their first official practice of the regular season on Wednesday, and wide receiver Malik Nabers was a full practice participant.
Nabers has been recovering from the torn ACL that ended his 2025 campaign after just 4 games.
After practice, head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media about Nabers’ availability. He said, “I think he’s [Nabers] ready to go.” Harbaugh showed some gamesmanship and was not ready to declare outright that Nabers would play, but added that he believed if the wide receiver feels good, he will play.
New York opens the regular season Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys for “Sunday Night Football.” Nabers will have two more practices this week before game statuses are due Friday afternoon.
Nabers is heading into the third season of his career. As a rookie in 2024, he finished fifth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting after posting 1,204 yards with seven touchdowns.
There was a lot of hype around Nabers last season after the team drafted quarterback Jaxson Dart. Unfortunately, the Giants’ top wide receiver tore his ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Before the injury, Nabers had played in four games and had 271 yards and two touchdowns.
This year, a healthy Nabers is expected to lead the Giants’ wide receiving corps. He should be Dart’s top receiving threat if he is out there. Nabers will be joined by third-round pick Malachi Fields and veterans Darnell Mooney and Odell Beckham Jr.
Nabers will look to bounce back in a big way in his 2026 season debut. He gets a familiar foe in the Cowboys, whom he has faced three times in his career. So far, Nabers has tallied 351 yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions against New York’s division rival.
